[Borknagar - Pagan Science]"Even though Vikings had their own wrapping, I would argue that their worldview had much in common with other ancient cultures all over the planet. The crucial common point here is the fact that they all shared the same respect for nature and played by nature’s rules. We don’t want to be any sort of 'Greenpeace-band' but I honestly believe that the only way around the almost pitch black future we are facing right now is to change our mindset on a global scale. I doubt this will ever happen, but as long as people worship monotheistic “war gods,” and ruin the planet due to reasons of interest and so forth, we will lose this race very soon. You might say that we intend to talk the tongue of nature." - Oystein G. Brun

[Blistering Giveaways]More just around the corner...

[Live Review - Machine Head Doing the Victory Lap in Dublin]You’ve got to give it to Machine Head. They’ve been on the road in support of their masterpiece The Blackening for the guts of three years at this stage and are showing no signs of slowing down. Ireland always give them a resounding welcome and it’s no different this time as scores of fans line the street outside of the Olympia from early in the day, drawing smiles and strange looks from passers-by with their chant of “Machine-Fucking-Head!”

[Unleashed]As Yggdrasil Trembles (the band's 10th studio album) finds vocalist/bassist Johnny Hedlund and his cohort band mates taking their accelerator slightly off in comparison to the furious, black metal tinged 2008 effort Hammer Battalion. Never fear, fellow death hounds, tracks like “So it Begins” and “Wir Kapitulieren Niemals” roar down the track at jet rocket propulsion, while the group also explore their slower doom thud dynamics with “Master of the Ancient Art.”
